Alhaz GK Mushahid’s Sheepskin Canvas innovationOfficial Patent Publication in Bangladesh

Alhaz GK Mushahid, a Bangladeshi artist, inventor, and researcher, has achieved an important milestone with the official publication of his invention by the Department of Patents, Designs and Trademarks (DPDT), Ministry of Industries, Government of Bangladesh.

His invention, titled “A Process for Creating Long-Lasting Artistic Canvases Using Thin-Tailed Sheepskin with Keratin-Collagen Locking Technology,” was officially published under Publication No. 38 on 29 October 2026.

The published patent application (Application No. BD-P-2026-122), filed on 2 April 2026, introduces an innovative process for creating long-lasting artistic canvases using thin-tailed sheep or goat skins.

According to the published abstract, the invention selectively locks the natural keratin-collagen protein structure of the skin, allowing colours to be applied directly onto the hair surface while preserving the structural integrity of the skin. The process aims to overcome the durability and structural limitations of conventional canvases and fabrics, providing a stable and long-lasting medium for artistic creations.

This research-based innovation brings together art, natural materials, and materials science, opening up a distinctive approach to artistic canvas development.

For Alhaz GK Mushahid, this achievement represents an important step in his journey as an artist and inventor. His vision is to introduce a unique artistic medium that can help preserve artworks, portraits, and historical memories for future generations.

The official publication of this patent application marks an important milestone in recognising and documenting his innovative work in Bangladesh.
