Alhaz GK Mushahid, an artist, inventor, and researcher, has created a portrait of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, titled “The Father of Dubai,” to honour his historic contribution to the development of Dubai.
Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum is remembered as one of the key leaders who shaped modern Dubai. During his leadership as Ruler of Dubai, he played a significant role in transforming the emirate from a small trading community into a developing international city. His vision and leadership contributed to major developments in infrastructure, trade, ports, roads, and economic growth, laying important foundations for the Dubai known today.
Through this portrait, Alhaz GK Mushahid seeks to preserve the image and legacy of Sheikh Rashid as an important figure in Dubai’s history and development.
The artwork is created on Real Thin-Tailed Sheepskin, an innovative artistic canvas developed through Alhaz GK Mushahid’s research. Designed for exceptional durability and the potential to preserve artworks for thousands of years under suitable conditions, this distinctive medium offers a unique way to preserve important portraits and historical memories for future generations.
For Alhaz GK Mushahid, art is more than creativity—it is a way to preserve history, honour great personalities, and carry their legacies into the future.
